The winner of the Irish GP, Rudi Caracciola, with his wife Charley, who was sadly killed not long afterwards, having being caught in an avalanche whilst skiing.

Rudolf Caracciola and his first wife 'Charly' after his win in the rain-soaked 1930 Irish Grand Prix. Charly, who was a very good timekeeper, sometimes disguised herself in men's clothes to get around a general ban on women in the pits. She was discovered and thrown out of the Mercedes pit at the Tourist Trophy of 1929.
