28th April 1928. ex. Hawkes car with new Blackburne OHV engine,in its first Brooklands race. Engine specially built for Norris, who was personal friend of Cecil Burney, one of Blackburne's Directors. He was passengered by his brother-in-law Carol Holbeche. They beat Du Cane's Bugatti to win the Junior Short Handicap @ 76mph.
