I would very much like to know anything about R.L. Bowes or (Bobby Bowes) who raced Bugatti and Frazer-Nash cars at Brooklands and Ards,he also tryed to place a Frazer-Nash 1.5 litre car on the grid for the 1930 Monaco Grand Prix but was to slow to do so,any information about this Gentleman would be helpfull.

The Lea-Francis, no.30, is chassis 14139 driven by Dan Higgins. On lap 10 Higgins collided heavily with a sand bank, erected for the event in front of Newtownards Town Hall. He managed to get the car free, but it suffered significant damage, some of which can be seen in this photo, and the bending of the front axle forced his retirement from the race. The registration KD 7361 is now carried on a different Lea-Francis, 14139 having been scrapped in the mid 1930’s.
