The Jappic was driven by H M Walters. Single-cylinder 344cc JAP engine. It seems that it was not competing in the SUNBAC event, but was at Brooklands that day making reord attempts.

In 1975 an article I wrote on the Jarvis coachbuilding company and MGs bodied by Jarvis that was published in an annual called MG World - 75. One of my sources was Patrick Walters who was the brother of Hubert M Walters and also a director of the company. In our discussions he mentioned the JAPPIC saying that his brother's nickname was Pickles so the car was called Jappic to represent him as builder and owner and the JAP engine from J A Prestwich. It was recorded achieving over 70 mph at Brooklands. Was this photo taken on that same day? I am updating my article now that more information has come to hand over the last 35 years but I would be pleased to hear from anyone regarding any aspect of the Jarvis firm, directors, employees or cars with Jarvis bodies mounted on them - particularly MGs. George Eyston was also a director of Jarvis and some of his race and record breaking cars were bodied at the Wimbledon premises. I live in Australia at 85 Green Point Drive, Forster NSW 2428. Anyone reading this may be interested in the book I wrote with my father called "Freik" which is the histroy of the unique and highly successful hill climb and sprint special called Freikaiserwagen.
