Six inch brakes, 26x3, or are these metric 700x75 Palmer beadies (19"wheels) and sitting low (on the floor?). Has this got fore & aft shockers? Was that plastic in the aero screens: they look very thin? There is a diagonal seam in the cockpit side, too. Beatrice: can you match the number to an event? JWd

I obtained a print of this photograph from Autocar many years ago and the driver was named as Forestier Walker . Dingle's car had a fairing behind the driver's head and also a large fairing for a single aero screen. XU 1581 had several changes eventually having a sloping faired -in radiator
