According to 'Sprint' by T.R. Nicholson the 27 May 1922 event held at Laindon Two Church Hill, 5 miles from Billericay on the Gravesend road attracted 1000 entries! There were 23 classes each with four or five sub-divisions. Apart from the large numbers the event attracted a top class field with all the best drivers and cars. Archie Frazer Nash driving his GN 'Kim' (seen here) set best time of the day with 28.6secs. beating Raymond Mays and Leon Cushman driving Brescia Bugattis.

Recent reviews of this photo on Facebook leads to the view that the GN is not 'Kim II' rather it is probably the long wheelbase track car 'Mowgli' with the 1500cc engine. The photo shows no sign of rear brakes and Two Church Hill was definitely a power hill, so Archie Nash would have needed the extra power to beat the Bugattis of Mays and Cushman
