The reports say that Hawkins in the DFP stopped to repair a broken rocker stud, and in the rush his mechanic broke off the (no doubt hardened) end of a rat-tail file in the hole. They set to work to try to drill it out (seen here) but were forced to give up after half an hour and retire. We've all been there - or thereabouts!
