This is Thompson, the car was modified later with a 6 inch wider front axle which apparently transformed the handling. Postwar, Major Thompson of Rockfield Road, Oxted. I knew him in the 60's, He lived a few houses down from my Aunt.

HJ Thompson was a young 2nd Lieut at the time. He was called to his regiment a few days later.
