  Each team consisted of three cars. While the 'A' cars await the start, the 'Bs' and 'Cs' are lined up in rows, ready to take over when appropriate. In the foreground are the B and C cars of Team 19. 19B is the Aston Martin of M H Morris-Goodall. Left foreground is 19C, the aged Horstman of C LeStrange Metcalfe.
