The car behind numbers 18 and 12, is probably J.H.P. Clover in M.G. C-type Montlhery Midget C 0262, registration number RX 8303. The photograph was taken during the One Hour High Speed Reliability Trial, the first event of the day at the Brighton & Hove MC Brooklands Rally on September 5th 1931. He gained 1st class awards in both events. Only 2 C-types were entered for that day and the other one was painted black with black wings and the other one, C 0262, was brown with cream wings. Hence the presumption. Number 12 is an Austin driven by R.C. Mouat and number 18 is being driven by P.B. Metchim, both gained 1st class awards as well.
