WK 3976 looks like a Gordon England "Stadium" to me.

I agree this is a G.E. Stadium model. Having studied the close up it is very similar to my own 1929 example! Particularly the windscreen frame, side lights, front wings, shape of the doors, detailing of the fabric body etc. Period photographs of the stadium model are very rare indeed. The bodies also varied subtly. My own car is number 327 out of 350 made.

215 is J Richardson, 217 is E V Frye, following is S Harris' Mercedes. Austin 12 coupe parked at the junction.

This could be the junction at Tan Hill, the cars having ascended West Stonesdale test hill. They are turning left towards Brough.

WK 3976 is certainly a GE Stadium, but perhaps a very early one - the model appeared at the Motor Show in October 1928. This example has the small headlights mounted on the radiator, like the Cup Model, and also the Cup Model's special GE sidelights. My 1929 Stadium has the standard 1929 Austin wings and Lucas R47 headlights which include a sidelight bulb. Note the fabric-covered bonnet and the seam along the scuttle in line with the bonnet hinge - a nice GE touch. If Marcus Gillah would like to get in touch, I would be delighted to meet another Stadium owner. 'Tis a rare beast.
