Wishful thinking on my part to say they were sixth - of course, Old no 7 didn't finish in 1926. Sammy ran out of brakes at Mulsanne with 20 minutes to go when trying to overtake the second placed Lorraine-Dietrich and piled into the sandbank to retire.
