Although the photo does not show sufficient detail of the car, it is a Petit Sport CS Amilcar. Vernon Balls entry for the Surrey Senior Long Handicap on 24th April 1926 (which he won) however quotes Grand Sport engine dimensions of 60 x 95 mm. He may have installed the new CGS engine in the lighter CS chassis or bored out the CS block. The high level of the external exhaust suggests he may have been running with a Duval Renoult OHV conversion fitted. He is known to have been experimenting with the OHV conversion at this time, bu found the addition of a Cozette supercharger more satisfactory.
