This rather unlikely racer is a Fronty-Ford Speedsport, driven at this meeting by A E Moss. I am not absolutely certain that this is the same A E Moss who was Sir Stirling's father - could there have been two drivers of that name - rather as there were two Leon Cushmans and two Cyril Pauls?

Can now see that it's a Pyrene fire extinguisher he's holding. The broken oil pipe was said to have caused a fire as he crossed the line (see the other pic), but they look quite cheerful about it!
