Alltnaharrie was/is a dead end on the south side of Loch Broom. The town over the loch in this pic is Ullapool. Competitors descended to lunch at the foot- at one time there was a hotel- then had to climb out the way they came. Main access was by boat, and some motorcyclists who failed mechanically had to resort to this alternative....
